Hello again everybody. Okay, first let me start this post by being 100% honest. I haven’t created a full 12×12 layout in a long time but when I received The Bright Side collection I knew I wanted to jump back into doing some actual scrapbooking. I have so many photos from the past year that need to be documented and I’m still working on how I want to do that but for now I’m having so much fun just creating whatever inspires me.

For this layout I started with a simple white background, some stamps and ink from my stash, and of course the beautiful papers and ephemera from The Bright Side collection.

I used poppy ( red/orange), green, and yellow ink to recreate some of the florals from the Bright Side papers. I layered some of the larger pieces of ephemera from the die cut pack and added a small tag with some fun fabric for texture.

In the bottom right corner I chose my favorite corresponding papers from the collection, but I was on the fence about whether to leave with straight edges or torn. Torn paper gives my “type A” perfectionist self a not so good feeling but I wanted to challenge myself a bit to try a new technique. In the end it wasn’t my favorite part of the layout but I now I can say I’ve stepped outside my comfort zone.

A cute idea for a simple spring layout! Thanks for joining me today!
