Tombow Swap Week: Day 5

Merry Christmas everyone!  Cathy Harper here with you today, sharing a home decor project with Fancy Pants’Oh Deer! collection and Tombow Products!

joy

I purchased two wooden letters and the grapevine wreath at my local hobby store.  The letters are 8 inches tall and the grapevine wreath is 6 inches in diameter.  I traced the letters onto the Oh Deer! Lights paper and cut them out, then I used Tombow’s Extreme Adhesive to adhere the paper to the letters.  It went on smooth and worked like a charm!

joy extreme

I thought the letters needed a bit more definition around the edges so I used Tombow’s Dual Brush Pen in brown to outline the edges.  I was able to run my finger over the ink to soften and blend it a little bit.  Very forgiving!

I then added a few Oh Deer! sequins to my project with  Tombow’s Mono-Multi Liquid Glue, perfect for adding little bits of bling!

My last step was to add the Oh Deer! Die cuts from the Ephemera Pack to the grapevine wreath.  The Tombow Power Tabs were perfect for this.  Strong hold and not a lot of bulk!

I love how quick and easy this project went together with the Tombow Products ! Can’t wait to add it to my Christmas mantle!

Tombow Swap Week: Day 4

12/11/14

Hello Friends! Today we are showcasing Tombow adhesives and Fancy Pants Designs Oh Deer! Collection. The easy-to-apply adhesives from Tombow allow precision and quality uses. I used four adhesives to create the MERRY Christmas layout: XTREME Adhesive, MONO Multi Liquid Glue, FOAM Tabs and POWER Tabs.

The XTREME Adhesive was perfect to adhere the Corrugate Paper to the pink Joy background paper as the high performance runner is stronger than standard tape runners. Just roll to apply onto the corrugate paper and swipe the tip to the side for a clean application. I also used it to adhere the Lights paper to the corrugate board.

The MONO Multi Liquid Glue creates a repositionable or a permanent bond: permanent by applying while glue is still wet or repositionable by letting the glue dry before positioning. I used the permanent method on the digital die-cut title, adhering the Red and Silver Foil Paper to the paper and cardstock mats. The repositionable method was used on the sequins, red foil punched circles and glass beads. This is a great technique when positioning and adhering sequins and small embellishments on the layout, particularly if you would like to reposition the elements.

The “crush resistant” double-sided FOAM Tabs instantly create pop-ups and dimension effects. The smaller squares were used to raise the group of three red foil holly berries onto the Ephemera holly leaves.

The POWER Tabs are ultra-strong adhesive tabs that bond on contact. This was great to use on the die-cut holly leaves as it not only adhered the paper to the corrugate paper, but it also created a dimensional effect raising the leaves slightly – less dimension than if I had used the foam squares. I cut a few of them in half to fit onto the smaller areas of the leaves. Remember to clean your scissors directly after cutting the tab.

To finish, add two color photos and a black and white photo which has a white cardstock and pink Joy paper mat. I also added border punched red foil paper strips to the layout.

Tombow Swap Week: Day 3

12/10/14

Hi everyone, Laurel here with a couple of Christmas cards using the Oh Deer! collection.  As December drew closer I dug out my Christmas cards and realized that I needed several more. Thus I chose to do cards for my Tombow post!

Adhesive runners are my most used (with foam squares a close second) adhesive.  They are so quick and easy to apply and with no dry time there is less chance of oopsies with clumsy hands or messy desks (which of course none of us have Winking smile  )

The little deer in the Oh Deer! collection just make me smile, they are so cute.

While creating the first card, I was thinking the ‘knit’ paper would make a great stocking so I die cut one out and then using some Tombow Liquid Glue I adhered some felt to the top.  A little dab of the Liquid Glue was all that I needed to adhere the sequins – easy peesy!  Of course, some of my elements are mounted with the foam squares…  I love the dimension and interest this added layer gives.

Tombow Swap Week: Day 2

12/09/14

Hi! Diana Fisher here with you today to share an ornament project with you. I used Tombow adhesive with the little trees that are a part of the Oh Deer! collection.

Because I was sticking a wooden-based tree to a plastic round ornament, the Tombow Xtreme permanent adhesive was the best choice. It applied a layer of super sticky adhesive to the base of the tree, which worked much better than a wet glue would have.

IMG_5305

After applying the adhesive, I used pliers to drop the tree into the ornament. Then, one of my handy Tombow markers worked well to help straighten and position the tree.

Once the trees were all inside the ornament, I used the packaging from my Tombow adhesive to make a little funnel for pouring the fake snow into the ornament.

It looks right at home hanging on our tree!
