Hello Everyone! Vicki here today to share a fun project I just finished up. I am loving the new “Dream big” Collection from Fancy Pants and I couldn’t wait to create something for our house with it.
I don’t know about you, but I love altering and repurposing things. Actually I have a big plastic bin in my craft room closet, just for different things I pick up as I see them. I may not always know just what I’m going to do with them when I bring them home, but I know they have potencial, and that is something I find so inspiring.
I created this from a decorative switch place I ran across.
I’ve had this switch plate in my “too alter someday” bin for quite a while now, but this beautiful collection was just the inspiration I needed. This collection has so many fun bits of ephemera that is was hard to pick which ones to use.
At first I had planed to paint the switch plate before starting, but them I really loved the way the papers and ephemera stood out from the metal.
Sticker letters from the Fancy Pant sticker sheets worked perfectly inside the spaces to spell “HOME”.
Attaching a wide ribbon to the back, extended from both the top corners, makes a great hanger. In the top photo I just have it laid over the knob on a glass Cloche on my sofa table.
I love this collection. It’s got great paper designs and so many fun ephemera pieces. I hope this inspires you to break out your papers and give some thought to what you can alter, to make a fun new piece of decor for your home. As I was writing this I started thinking it really might be fun to add some journaling pages in the back that they could document the dates of each project and update.
