It’s a Beautiful Day!

I have a good friend that I met through scrapbooking years ago at our local scrapbook store!  Now that our kids are older, we crossed paths again when our girls ended up on the same soccer team!

So… when her oldest had TWINS I had to ask for photos to use with our new lines…what I LOVED about these pictures and The Bright Side Collection is that I could use a mix of products all from the same collection, but to suit the different colors and mood of the photos!

This first one I worked on is bright and cheery to encompass the happy feelings this new Mom is feeling!

I just LOVE this photo I LOVE the ephemera floral pieces to wrap around it to create a perfect focal point!

And, the crochet flowers we brought back for this line are…devine!!  They offer a bright, happy color, but a soft, elegant touch at the same time!

Up next are two more layouts that were definitely on the softer side of this collection…same collection, same babies, completely different look and feel!

The touches of gold foiled items and the pastel pinks, blues and yellows is such a perfect touch for this photo!

And last, more pops of color with a mix of the pastels with the vibrant reds in the line!  This one turned out so pretty..that photo is amazing!

So…which is your favorite?  Baby layout overload and so many options that The Bright Side Collection has to offer!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Daydream…

Hello everyone. It’s Anna here and I have a very floral layout for you today. I am still staying in spring mood and once again I reached for “The Bright Side” Collection. Flowers and butterflies are one of my favorite embellishments and I can never have enough of them. I am sure I could count more than 100 layouts with floral elements in my albums. For my today’s project I used a cute picture of my daughters taken 4 years ago.
I have plenty of photos of each of them alone but when it comes to pictures of my girls together, there is always an issue with face look or attitude. Usually one of them doesn’t want to pose with sister and the second one is making silly faces. I snap like 100 photos and only a few are usable. When I rediscovered this dreamy photo, I knew I have to scrap it.
I created mixed media background using mermaid marker and aqua pastels by Jane Davenport. I also added some green, shiny paste called “Sour apple” from Shimmerz applying it through the stencil.
Pretty papers from “The bright side” collection called “Happy feet” and “A good stuff” helped me create whimsical flowers. I used a free cut file from Paper Issues called “You & Me poppy flowers”.
I finished my project by adding bits and pieces from ephemera pack, tags set and this gorgeous crochet flower. With background as busy as mine, you really don’t need much of embellishing.
I recorded a process video for you, so you can follow my creative process.
Here is a link to my video:

Pretty Card Trio

Happy Spring! I really can’t wait until I can start saying that haha. It’s been a really long, cold and extremely snowy winter in Southern Alberta. The weather has been teasing us profusely giving a few days here and there of sunshine and slightly warm temps but it’s swiftly followed up by several days of non-stop snow and cold. It’s really pretty I suppose, but I’m so ready for tulips and crocuses. Who else is ready for spring!?

Using The Bright Side Collection I put together a sweet little trio of cards. My stash was getting low so I thought it was a good time to get to work on refilling my card box. I love giving home made cards, they’re fun to make and I think it’s always a thoughtful gesture to give someone something you’ve made with your own hands and heart. These would make a great little Mother’s day or Teacher gift as well. Wrap the bundle in some bakers twine and tuck them in a sweet little pouch with some washi tape and stamps. The perfect home made stationery gift!

I usually like to work in layers to make sure my pages or projects have texture and depth. The first layer being the white card base. I picked out the pieces I wanted to use on the cards from The Bright Side e

Ephemera pack, Chipboard stickers and Puffy stickers sheet and laid out the pieces I thought I would use in three piles. From there I chose sprays to use on the base layer in the form of splats as well as a dry emboss folder that leaves a wood grain impression.  I cut out two pieces of Kraft cardstock and ran it through my big shot to get the wood grain embossing look. Once all my elements were ready to go I started assembling the cards.

Let’s Celebrate card; I lightly splattered silver spray on the top corner, visioning where the wood grain piece of Kraft paper would go. I wanted the paint to peek out. I used pop dots to adhere the Kraft piece, centering it. I sewed a straight stitch ¾ of the way down the red and white striped scallop strip. Adhering it with pop dots to the Kraft piece. I made a little bundle of thread and glued it under the “Let’s Celebrate” chipboard piece.

Counting Blessings card; I splattered blue spray a little heavier diagonally across the card base. Placed my paper elements to fit inside the wooden scallop circle then adhered them to fit inside the frame. I added a few of the heart puffy stickers to add more texture and adhered the “Counting Blessings” sentiment with pop dots. Finishing the card by popping the blue flower off the card with a pop dot.

Fern & Flower bouquet card; I sewed all the way around the edge of the Kraft piece then adhered it, centering it on the card base, with Sookwang tape. My fav! I created a sweet little bouquet with some of the ephemera elements, gluing them with a small dab of glue to keep them in place before tying the bouquet with red and white baker’s twine. To anchor the bouquet I popped the white frame, from the ephemera pack, off of the Kraft piece with pop dots. I then placed the bouquet in the center of the frame using pop dots but layering the pop dots in a couple places to bring the leaf and pink daisy off the card a little more than the other elements. To finish it off I used a pop dot to stick the yellow flower down.

Cards are always handy to have on hand; I hope you have fun making some of your own to replenish your stash! Happy Spring!!

Rain Boots and Flower Bouquets!

Just me again with a fun little “bloom” project I came up with!

We have these adorable ceramic boots in our shop that match The Bright Side Collection SO PERFECTLY and I thought for the spring shower season that I would make a bloom of paper flowers for one & I’m so happy with how it turned out!

To create the “bloom” I used a green popsicle stick as my base {you could just paint one to match.. the key is that it is hiding in the boot anyway}!  Get a good idea of where you want your first flower to start by putting the popsicle stick in the boot so you know how high the flowers need to be… I made mine so that the flowers angled out of the boot naturally, but didn’t stop it from sitting nicely in place!

I layered my flowers until I got the right look and then added both regular and dimensional adhesives for a ‘real’ bouquet look!  Oh, and I added the kite for a little fun flair!!

A little closer look at the details!

I put it on my desk next to the layout I shared earlier in the month of my little guy sharing his own gathered bouquet with me…they looked perfect together and made the perfect spring decor for my desk area!

Thanks for doing us today!  I hope you’ve got some new ideas “blooming” in your head ;)!

The Good Stuff Mini Album by Maryam

Hey, Friends!

Maryám here with you to share a new project using The Bright Side Collection. For today’s project, I made a mini album. The size of it is about 3×5 inches but there are also some pages that are a bit smaller.

In this page, I decided to add a pocket with sequins. I made the pocket from one of the photo sheets from the Fancy Pants Designs Insta Album.

For this page, I used vellum sheet. Over it, I added the words Fun Day using the puffy alphabet stickers from the Sweet Nothings Collection.

For the middle page, I decided to make some pockets. I had a lot of photos that I wanted to include and pockets are great for that.

In this page, I had the other part of the sequin pocket but in here, I added a phrase using the same alphabet I used before. In the right side of these pages, there is a vellum pocket, I put a photo and a tag in it.

And that’s it for today friends! I hope you liked this mini album. Please, let me know if you have any questions by commenting below.

Have an amazing week!
