Team Coordinator…Jodi Sanford!

Hello to all of our Fancy Pants Designs Followers! Happy Monday!

I am always so thankful that you take the time to “like” our posts, visit our blog and leave your kind comments!  And I’m super excited to continue on to a new year with a fabulous team of designers that will share their best work with you and inspire you for when you are using our product line…or get you out to your stores requesting our lines!

We have TOP NOTCH product designers to create beautiful papers and embellishments and TOP NOTCH project designers to show them off!  I hope you’ll join us often on the blog, in our shop and on our various social media spots {Facebook, Instagram  and Twitter } because we love to hear your thoughts, wants and see what you are creating with our lines!

For my post today, I am using a variety of pieces from our The Bright Side Collection.  This collection makes me super happy… it’s just a cheerful line full of color!  And, I went back in time {2014 to be exact} to document some cute photos of my, then 4 year old, with a handful of beautiful flowers he had picked just for me!

I posted this tag on our social media a short while back and wanted to show you where it ended up!  I love creating tags and mini items that can quickly be added to a layout or a card or as a lovely gift tag…this one would’ve worked for all of the above, but I love how it matched up so well with my photos…and not only was he “oh so happy” with his accomplishment of spoiling me with flowers, but I was “oh so happy” with my sweet, thoughtful little boy!  Here is the tag, pre-layout…I think it would’ve made a perfect birthday card or gift tag on a colorful gift sack, too!

Here are a few more shots of the finished layout.  I did have multiple photos to add to my project, but didn’t plan to add them all in sight, so I used a little clothes pin to hook them all together and to the matte,  then tucked them behind the tag so they wouldn’t slip out, but would be easy to take a closer look at whenever we wanted!

Oh, and those adorable little pom-poms and raffle tickets were part of our Monthly Kit that we offer on our retail site!  Did you know that we have a monthly kit club?  It’s honestly filled to the brim with extra goodies to match our collections and is super affordable, too! Link HERE and search under subscription for the right kit for you {we have different monthly kits in both domestic and international subscriptions available}!

Thanks for joining me today…the final day of our new team introductions!  I’m more than thrilled with our new team and hope you’ll enjoy their projects as much as I do!

Have a great week!

Welcome…Zsoka Marko!

Hey there crafty friends,

I’m back today with a new layout for Fancy Pants Designs.

But before I get to it, let me re-introduce myself shortly, in case you’re new here!

I’m Zsóka (I know a lot of people are wondering just how to pronounce that haha! The closest but not exact match would be: ʒɔ:kɑ:), and I’ve been on the Fancy Pants Designs DT for 1.5 years. It was a dream come true when Jodi added me to the DT – Fancy Pants has been one of my favourite manufacturers ever since I started scrapbooking in 2015. I adore their unique designs, patterns and color combinations! I hope they will never follow the masses! <3

I’m Hungarian but have been living in Germany for over 13 years now. I live with my Dutch boyfriend and our 9 and a half-year-old son who is the main focus of my layouts. I’ve been crafting ever since I remember – in kindergarten I mostly drew and won all sorts of competitions (my parents still have some of my “work”) which is funny because I can’t draw to save my life now. However being creative was not supported that day and age and I had to study things that people considered to be useful, things that one could easily find a job with. So I studied languages…After I had my first BA in the pocket I could finally decide what I myself would want to learn. You’d think I chose something I actually liked. Nope. Instead I studied Public Relations which I never practiced and never will because I’m too honest for my own good…After I moved here, at some point I needed something that made me happy so I started studying interior design. I was obsessed with it so it’s beyond me why I am not interested in it anymore. For a while now I’ve been thinking about studying again to finally work in a creative field – about 20 years too late! No one ever blamed me for being quick…I wish one could make scrapbooking into a career because the amount of time I spend on it is more than a full time job!

I think this is the first time I actually wrote about my studies, so there might be new information there even for people who know me!

As for today’s layout. My inspiration came from a card by the super talented Yana Smakula, who used a Simon Says Stamp card kit to create her gorgeous card. It reminded me of the galoshes cut file by Paige Evans! I thought it would be perfect with the amazing The Bright Side collection!

I cut a pair of wellies and backed them the exact same way, using different patterned papers. I adhered my photo to my background and glued the wellies on top. I then placed all the flowers and leaves from the ephemera pack on my boots. I love how that looks! I used different adhesives to give the flowers dimension: liquid glue for some and 3d foam adhesive for others.

Other than that I kept my embellishing to the minimum, just a couple of pieces of die cuts, labels and chipboards. For my title I picked a chipboard banner piece.

I wrote my journaling, splattered black ink and added some nuvo drops to finish off my page.

That’s it for today! I hope you like this page as much as I loved working on it!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Welcome…Nicole Nowosad!

Good morning Fancy Pants Designs Friends!
It’s Nicole here today – I am very happy to return as part of the Fancy Pants team! I am a working mom to three, who lives in Winnipeg Canada! Yes, the cold north, about 3 hours north of Fargo, North Dakota. I love bright colors and patterns which you can find in many of the Fancy Pants collections. I also use a lot of cut files and patterns on my layouts from my own site at Just Nick Studio!
I am happy to share this project with you today using the new Bright Side collection.  I used several of the papers in the collection to create a frame on the page in which to gather my photo and embellishments.
Note to self
I love all those bright and fabulous colors in this collection and so I cut each one into a hexagon and worked it around the page in a circle like pattern. I added a 6″x6″ photo and then added some diecut ephemera.
Note to self cl2
The pretty florals in the ephemera pack are so pretty, they are the perfect modern shape and design. I added a larger diecut title and a few chipboard embellishments too, around that same circle design.
Note to self cl1
Collection used: The Bright Side
Thank you so much for joining me today!

Welcome…Stephanie Adams!

Hello, Friends!

Hey everybody my name is Stephanie and I am so excited to be one of the new members of the Fancy Pants Design team. Today, I wanted to share a little about me.
First things first,  I’m a faith girl. Yep, one of those Jesus loving, bible journaling, homeschooling, gospel spreading gals. Recently, I re-branded my blog, well…actually I started a whole new one, based on my love of scrapping and crafting for Jesus. Visit my blog, Craft His Love to see more bible based projects, journaling, and creative devotions.
As a homeschooling mom of five kids one of my continuous lessons is to love and appreciate all people. It’s my life’s mission to have children that take nothing and no one for granted. I believe in showing affection and gratitude as often as possible.
Recently, we’ve been trying to do more random acts of kindness for those that serve us. Ya know, the mailman, the librarians, Sunday school teachers, and even waitresses/waiters.
I love watching the kids come up with cards and fun things for these special people and this week as Easter approaches I wanted to do something on my own. I know we will be going for Easter dinner after church and wanted to show the waitress or waiter a little love and appreciation on such a special day. So I sat down with the beautiful Bright Side Collection  and crafted a “tip tract”. I know everyone is familiar with what a tract is but I wanted it to be pretty, eye catching, full of great information and of course a place to show gratitude.

Created much like a mini album I used 5×5 inch pieces of the bright patterned paper from Bright Side. It’s so springy and screams Happy Easter! For the cover I layered pieces of ephemera, paper, and chipboard with pop dots to create a 3D effect.

Welcome…Anna Komenda!

Hello friends.
It’s Anna here with my first post created for Fancy Pants DT! I am so happy and thrilled to work with those gorgeous products! I hope you will find my projects inspiring.
My first layout is a kind of introduction about me and what I like (beside scrapbooking of course :) ). I used “The Bright Side” collection for this page. I love the combination of bright colors ans cute patterns. This line can be used in so many projects. It’s very versatile.
I used my most favorite paper in this collection , called “Natural beauty”, as a background for my page. I printed series of funny selfies as it it page about me. I think using your own pictures in layouts it’s very important because your story matters. Your life is not only about cute kids and pest and beloved husband. You also deserve to scrap yourself. Don’t forget to add journaling, so your kids will have a lot to remember about you in many years from now.
I like my pictures to have frames. If I am not able to print them with white outline, I just add a frame made of paper. I used a pieces of papers from 6*6 pad and backed the photos with different colors. I love small paper pads because you don’t have to cut the whole 12*12 sheet to get just the tiny piece of pattern.
I went through ephemera pack and picked elements that matches the things I like. I got bird, because I like watching birds using binoculars. I am a sweet tooth so I picked those cute macarons. I do not drink coffee but I love drinking tea. That’s why I used a cup.
I scattered the chosen items under my pictures adding some tag from tags set and few chipboard stickers. I finished my composition by stamping names of my favs with different ink colors. Title of my page is quite simple – My favs. Because this page is all about it. I used black puffy alpha set from “Sweet nothings” collection. Adding stitches with loose thread ends is a great way to create texture on the page. My final step was to splash the page with colorful mists. I like this touch of mess on my layouts.
And that’s it. Now it’s your turn to scrap yourself. If you love this collection and want to purchase it, check your favorite shops. You can also buy it at our retail website Make a Pretty Life.
