Welcome…Nicole Nowosad!

04/03/18

Good morning Fancy Pants Designs Friends!
It’s Nicole here today – I am very happy to return as part of the Fancy Pants team! I am a working mom to three, who lives in Winnipeg Canada! Yes, the cold north, about 3 hours north of Fargo, North Dakota. I love bright colors and patterns which you can find in many of the Fancy Pants collections. I also use a lot of cut files and patterns on my layouts from my own site at Just Nick Studio!

I am happy to share this project with you today using the new Bright Side collection.  I used several of the papers in the collection to create a frame on the page in which to gather my photo and embellishments.

Note to self

I love all those bright and fabulous colors in this collection and so I cut each one into a hexagon and worked it around the page in a circle like pattern. I added a 6″x6″ photo and then added some diecut ephemera.

The pretty florals in the ephemera pack are so pretty, they are the perfect modern shape and design. I added a larger diecut title and a few chipboard embellishments too, around that same circle design.

Thank you so much for joining me today!

Welcome…Stephanie Adams!

03/29/18

Hello, Friends!

Hey everybody my name is Stephanie and I am so excited to be one of the new members of the Fancy Pants Design team. Today, I wanted to share a little about me.
First things first,  I’m a faith girl. Yep, one of those Jesus loving, bible journaling, homeschooling, gospel spreading gals. Recently, I re-branded my blog, well…actually I started a whole new one, based on my love of scrapping and crafting for Jesus. Visit my blog, Craft His Love to see more bible based projects, journaling, and creative devotions.
As a homeschooling mom of five kids one of my continuous lessons is to love and appreciate all people. It’s my life’s mission to have children that take nothing and no one for granted. I believe in showing affection and gratitude as often as possible.
Recently, we’ve been trying to do more random acts of kindness for those that serve us. Ya know, the mailman, the librarians, Sunday school teachers, and even waitresses/waiters.
I love watching the kids come up with cards and fun things for these special people and this week as Easter approaches I wanted to do something on my own. I know we will be going for Easter dinner after church and wanted to show the waitress or waiter a little love and appreciation on such a special day. So I sat down with the beautiful Bright Side Collection  and crafted a “tip tract”. I know everyone is familiar with what a tract is but I wanted it to be pretty, eye catching, full of great information and of course a place to show gratitude.

Created much like a mini album I used 5×5 inch pieces of the bright patterned paper from Bright Side. It’s so springy and screams Happy Easter! For the cover I layered pieces of ephemera, paper, and chipboard with pop dots to create a 3D effect.

Welcome…Anna Komenda!

03/26/18

Hello friends.
It’s Anna here with my first post created for Fancy Pants DT! I am so happy and thrilled to work with those gorgeous products! I hope you will find my projects inspiring.
My first layout is a kind of introduction about me and what I like (beside scrapbooking of course :) ). I used “The Bright Side” collection for this page. I love the combination of bright colors ans cute patterns. This line can be used in so many projects. It’s very versatile.
I used my most favorite paper in this collection , called “Natural beauty”, as a background for my page. I printed series of funny selfies as it it page about me. I think using your own pictures in layouts it’s very important because your story matters. Your life is not only about cute kids and pest and beloved husband. You also deserve to scrap yourself. Don’t forget to add journaling, so your kids will have a lot to remember about you in many years from now.
2
I like my pictures to have frames. If I am not able to print them with white outline, I just add a frame made of paper. I used a pieces of papers from 6*6 pad and backed the photos with different colors. I love small paper pads because you don’t have to cut the whole 12*12 sheet to get just the tiny piece of pattern.
3
I went through ephemera pack and picked elements that matches the things I like. I got bird, because I like watching birds using binoculars. I am a sweet tooth so I picked those cute macarons. I do not drink coffee but I love drinking tea. That’s why I used a cup.
4
I scattered the chosen items under my pictures adding some tag from tags set and few chipboard stickers. I finished my composition by stamping names of my favs with different ink colors. Title of my page is quite simple – My favs. Because this page is all about it. I used black puffy alpha set from “Sweet nothings” collection. Adding stitches with loose thread ends is a great way to create texture on the page. My final step was to splash the page with colorful mists. I like this touch of mess on my layouts.
And that’s it. Now it’s your turn to scrap yourself. If you love this collection and want to purchase it, check your favorite shops. You can also buy it at our retail website Make a Pretty Life.

Hockey Time

03/21/18

Hey everyone!
It’s Amy here to share a layout I created about our family favorite, HOCKEY! I used the popular Family & Co line to create it.  This line is all about life, home, family, you name it…it works for your projects!
hockey time
I kept my project simple, and I swear, Fancy Pants knows how to create embellishments to coordinate~ the Family & Co Chipboard Stickers were perfect to add some fun details!
hockey time closeup
We do hockey 365 days, 24/7…so the stickers and ephemera were perfect accents…and I think most families have something that they do very regularly so these are fun and easy to use on just about any page!

I also love layering right on top of my photo if there is room and this photo had the space to let me add all the bits and pieces I wanted for the finished look and title!

Thanks for visiting me on the blog today!
And did you know that many of our latest products & kits–if you can’t find them in your favorite shop–can now be found on our retail website Make a Pretty Life? Check it out!

The Cutest Easter Bunny Cards!

03/19/18

Hi there, my crafty friends!

Today I’m sharing a few Easter cards with you & they are adorable!

I’ve used the bright and colorful Take Note collection to create all of these cards. I just love the colors and patterns in this line! I knew I was not going to use embellishments, so the original theme of the collection didn’t bother me, the papers were perfect! Sometimes themes make you think you won’t be able to use a collection, but that is NOT the case with the Fancy Pants Designs Collections!

I remembered a super adorable cut file the lovely Bea Valint created last year and thought I’d use it on my cards today. I however wanted to make both girl and boy bunnies, so I modified her original cut file to have a boy too (nose and eyelashes are different). I cut all of the bunnies from textured white card stock and for the rest of the card I used patterned papers.

I cut little flowers for the girls (also part of the cut file) and hand cut a couple of hats for the boys. Plus added little bows for neck tie. I stamped my sentiment using a mini alpha stamp set and added some Nuvo drops to finish off these four cards.

I also wanted to make more cards where the bunnies’ ears are hanging off the card. I simply folded a standard A2 size card in half, this way the card still fits in the same sized envelope, but the ears have room to stick out! So cute!

On this set, I also added a piece of patterned paper to my white card base. I cut some grass with the help of a die and layered two on top of each other using some foam adhesive to create some dimension. I backed the bunny ears and faces with patterned paper, then glued them on the card front and decorated them with flowers and a hat like the first set.

For my sentiment I used one of the patterned papers in the Take Note collection that had a fun, bold alphabet & fussy cut the tiny alphas to create the title. So fun and unique!  I added some Nuvo drops and they were done!

Thanks for “hopping” by today~ I hope you love these cards as much as I loved creating them!

Have an awesome day!

Getting a little Artsy Fartsy…

03/16/18

Happy Friday, Friends!

Mary-Ann here… something to learn about me…I am well known in the neighborhood as the lady with all the art supplies {probably like many of you}.  You need something done, chances are, I have the tools you need.  Assisting my little neighborhood pal on her 2nd grade art project was so much fun.    I wanted to be sure to document it.  I used the new The Bright Side Collection. For my layout, I wanted to ‘semi’-recreate the picture she completed.  So, I used a FREE cut file from Paper Issues- Sunburst Background, enlarged it to have the sun, overlapping the edge of the corner.  If I had thought in advance, I would have directly added my journaling to the sun rays.  Instead, I cut the strips of journaling and individually placed them on the rays.

You can see the journaling close-up here.

I also used another FREE cut file from Paper Issues called Rings of Life for my flowers.  I wanted to add something delicate with the fun colorful papers in The Bright Side Collection.  Behind my photos, I layered some of the colorful tags in The Bright Side Tag pack and a few more papers for layering!

Oh, and that bow!  It was part of the Pretty Paper Bows from the Millie and June Collection?  It had a package of Paper Bows.  I used the gold one that worked perfectly with the yellow background paper.  I love mixing older with the new.

Thanks for stopping by today.
