Halloween is over, but it doesn’t mean the season over for the Spellbound collection. So I have created a few brown paper bags with a mix of the Spellbound collections and a few pieces from last years collection Golden Days.

ChristinGronnslettThankYouBags001

These treat bags are nice little gifts to say thank you. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in Norway, but there is never the wrong time for gifts. Hostess gifts and other gifts are nice to have whenever you are invited over.

I used my Cameo to cut out leaves. I used the Internal offset feature to cut out a bigger and a smaller piece of the leaves.  Then I pierced holes and stitched with a sharp orange thread for some extra contrast.

Just the two leaves weren’t enough so I wanted to make it even more interesting. I used a fabric leaf, a gold ephemere from the Golden Days collection and a few other pieces from the same collection. I just used my printer for the text Thank you.

For my other bag I went with slightly different colors, but in this one I also used a square ephemera piece in the bottom.  From the Golden Days collection I also used a paper clip. I wis I would have hoarded these. I really love them.

FOr the text I cut it out on a watercolor paper and then I cut it out in a shape from an old template that I have saved. I loved this one old ephemera I had in this shape and traced it so I could use it for later.  It’s not always about the look, sometimes it’s just the shape that I love.

Teacher gifts

Hey everyone! Vicki here to day to share a little inspiration for a teacher thankyou or Teacher Appreciation Day gift.  The Take Note Collection is such a fun collection with so many possibilities.  This collection makes it easy to pull together a little something for that special teacher. Here is what I came up with.  The kids can even help with this.  A fun project  for you to do with the kids, that will be even more meaningful because they were involved in the process.

Adding these hand made pennants to apples is a fun and easy idea.  There are lots of great school themed pieces in this collection to create a Pennant top. When you’re finished, all you have to do is hot glue it to a wooden dowel or wooden barbecue skewers.

These kraft bags are fantastic for dressing up.  Mine holds a couple of Hersey bars, but a cookie, a note pad or a package of popcorn are just a few other ideas.

In this collection there is a package of  Library Card Pockets and Journaling Cards. These work well for a personal thankyou note for the teacher as well as for a gift card holder.

Don’t forget to snap a photo when your child takes this to their teacher. This collection is just fantastic for school themed layouts!

Halloween witches FP

Hey Everyone! Vicki here today, sharing a bit of spooky fun.  I was so excited to see this super cute Halloween collection from Fancy Pants called Spellbound

I was seriously checking the mail daily, waiting for this collection to come!  I had a project in mind before it even arrived.

I wanted to create a pair of these witches shoes with it.  It’s fun to plan out what papers will be used for each different piece. I really like using the 12×12 sheets for large pieces and the smaller prints from the 6×6 pad for the little accent pieces.  I pretty excited about the fun striped pattern. Perfect for the witches socks, don’t you think?

There are so much fun things in the Ephemera pack that I could have used on the shoes, but I decided on the word “Halloween” , the spider web and the bats.

I wanted my shoes to be free standing so I attached them with a strip of cardstock at the back of the heal.  I had adhered the paper to the chipboard with adhesive sheets before die cutting it. I used my die design from AccuCut but  ( if you don’t have this die, or a die cutting machine, you could find a pattern online and cut it could by hand). It would also make a darling album of course.

With all the fun papers and ephemera  in this collection, where are tons of different ways you could create a pair of these shoes.

You could also make the legs longer and stick them upside down in a big bowl of candy. Wouldn’t that be fun?

Any way you do it, I know  you will feel inspired when you get your hands on this collection!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Friends, did you know that in the Spellbound Collection from Fancy Pants Designs, there are Halloween themed treat sacks? There are! So, go find them and buy them now, because I think they are going to sell out quickly.  These treat sacks are the perfect way to give away candy or a gift, whether it be for Halloween, or a trunk or treat, or a birthday party.  Easy Peasy is the name of the game.

First I scored the bags at the 6 inch mark, to get a perfect fold.  Then I added the candy to the bag, folded the flap and held it in place with one of the stickers that comes with the sacks.

Next I used the tags and ephemera packs from the Spellbound collection as well to decorate the bags further. One of the tags is actually from the Holiday Hustle line, it just happened to match perfectly!

Halloween Cards | Zsoka Marko

Halloween Cards | Zsoka Marko

10/23/17

Hi crafty friends,

Zsoka here, popping in to share my latest project for Fancy Pants Designs!

This time I made three Halloween cards with the super awesome Spellbound collection. Here they are:

20170923_152941FINALbanner

I picked three cut files from the Silhouette Design Store and cut all of them from black card stock.

This one below originally had Halloween written in the middle, but I removed that and instead I welded the remaining spider web with the Boo cut file that is a Halloween font, also from the Silhouette Design Store. I backed the pumpkins with orange paper to give them more definition. What I didn’t notice until my kiddo pointed it out is that the pumpkins look like eyes. Even better! I adhered the cut file to a purple patterned paper, to which I added a black patterned paper and all this I glued to the white card base. To decorate the card and add some dimension, I stitched some cute buttons on and added some die cut pieces as well.

For my second card I used a circle cut file with lots of bats. I backed this with a polka dot patterned paper, added foam adhesive to its back and adhered it on my card base. This consists of 4 layers: the white card base, a black ghost patterned paper, orange and mint papers. To embellish it I picked out some die cut pieces from the ephemera pack. Isn’t that owl the cutest?!

For the third card, which I actually made first, I used the negative cut file. This one took a while to piece back together as I backed it with different patterned papers! All the small pieces had to be glued down one by one. For the sentiment I used my favorite striped paper from this collection and for the rest I used some mint, orange and purple papers. Then I glued all this down on top of an orange patterned paper and a white card base.

I love how these turned out and since we don’t celebrate Halloween, I’ll be sure to send these to American friends!  They won’t be wasted :).

I hope you are inspired to create your own Halloween cards and surprise some friends with them!

Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!

Thanksgiving card Trio

Hello everyone!  Vicki here today to share a few Thanksgiving cards with you.   I created these with a couple of different Fancy Pants Collections.  I used the Golden Days and True Friend Collections together.   I love how so many of the collection are easy to mix with others.  That is very true with this combo. Neither collection is specifically Thanksgiving themed. Both these collections have  papers and ephemera that work great for any Fall projects.

Thankful card 1

All of these gorgeous colors blend together so well.  As I put these cards together, I enjoyed mixing these somewhat nontraditional Thanksgiving colors.  The ephemera packs are always filled with  all kinds of  great pieces to choose from.  For these cards I used some from each of the collections.

Give thanks card 2

I love the contrast of the mustard and navy, with the pops of coral/orange and aqua.

Happy Thanksgiving card 3

The Tags, ephemera and Puffy stickers can add so much interest to your cards.  I love adding my ephemera with foam squares for even more dimension.

The 6×6 Paper Pads are perfect for card making, and cards are also a great way to put your smaller pieces to good use.

These cards will be mailed out to my three sisters for Thanksgiving.  Are there some special people in your life that would love to receive a handmade card from you this Thanksgiving?

I hope this inspires you to create!
