I picked a butterfly cut file I liked (one of the butterflies in the Butterfly Cluster cut file by Paige Taylor Evans) and cut it from different patterned papers and in different sizes. I then stitched 3-4 together, using my sewing machine.
I also cut another cut file from textured white card stock (The Chicken Wire by The Cut Shoppe), then I started putting my layout together. I picked a blue striped paper from the Family&Co collection for my background. I love this paper!
I then adhered the Chicken Wire cut file to my background paper. I didn’t put glue everyone on the cut file because I wanted to create a dimensional look. I arranged the butterflies the way I liked them, then glued them down.
I layered some tissue paper, tags and die cuts behind both photos and placed them on the layout. For my journaling I used a journaling spot. To finish off my layout I added a chipboard title and a few chipboard hearts.
I hope you like how it turned out! I love dimension and layered hearts/butterflies/etc give so much texture to the layout too! I realise this style is not for everyone, but it is certainly my style!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
The Good Stuff. I want to document and remember all The Good Stuff from my girls’ childhood. SO many awesome (and not so awesome – but usually laughable) moments. This is one of the awesome moments. Going to visit Roxy and Sally. Probably thee most favourite animals in my Milly’s childhood thus far.
I wanted to keep the layout bright and fun. I love the photos I took of this particular day at my Uncles visiting their horses and didn’t want to take away from the gorgeous photos. I tend to be a minimalist but pushed myself to be less of a minimalist on this layout. I found that keeping the colour palette simple helped a huge amount. Yellow, white and black were the main colors for this page.
I love the birds in the ephemera pack in The Bright Side collection.
I also snuck in a few of the chipboard sticker elements. The sunshine paper is from the Poolside collection.
The layout design is based roughly on another layout I made last year. When I’m stumped I go through old layouts and look at them as if they are a sketch. Sometimes that’s all I need to get going and pump out a few layouts in a short amount of time.
I hope you found something new in my project! I’m always trying to keep it simple, but fresh and on-trend, too!

Hi dear friends, It’s Maryám here to share my third layout using The Bright Side Collection. For today’s project, I decided to do an 8 1/2 x 11 page.
I started punching out some circles from the 6×6 paper pad. Then, I cut them in a half and adhered them to the right and left borders of my layout. After that, I fussy cut the flower cluster from the Natural Beauty paper and also added some ephemera pieces to my design.
Here are some close-ups:
For the title, I used one of the chipboard stickers that says On the bright side because it matches perfectly with the photo.
The photo I used for this layout was taken by me this summer when we visited a place where were a lot of animals, included the birds from the photo. We had a lot of fun over there, so I all of the journaling is about the experience we lived.
