POOL time!

05/28/18

Hello, Fancy Pants Friends!
As soon as I saw the Poolside collection, I knew I had the perfect pictures for it. My son is a fish, and would spend all day every day in the pool. I took these photos of him in our condo pool and couldn’t wait to scrap them.

I can’t even get over this cute boy ephemera, which was perfect for my cute boy!  Isn’t it the best?  There are so many options in this set and they are all so adorable!

I also used some pieces from  The Bright Side Collection to accent this project!
I actually grabbed the light blue journal block from The Bright Side  and it was perfect with the cute sun ephemera.

I know you’re going to love Poolside just as much as I do!  Summer can’t arrive soon enough, right?  Thanks for joining me today!

A Butterfly Flurry.. Let’s Celebrate!

05/25/18

Hi lovelies,

Zsoka back with you today sharing a new layout I’ve created. I’ve used the gorgeous The Bright Side collection on this one!

20180416_165630FINALbanner

I picked a butterfly cut file I liked (one of the butterflies in the Butterfly Cluster cut file by Paige Taylor Evans) and cut it from different patterned papers and in different sizes. I then stitched 3-4 together, using my sewing machine.

I also cut another cut file from textured white card stock (The Chicken Wire by The Cut Shoppe), then I started putting my layout together. I picked a blue striped paper from the Family&Co collection for my background. I love this paper!

I then adhered the Chicken Wire cut file to my background paper. I didn’t put glue everyone on the cut file because I wanted to create a dimensional look. I arranged the butterflies the way I liked them, then glued them down.

I layered some tissue paper, tags and die cuts behind both photos and placed them on the layout. For my journaling I used a journaling spot. To finish off my layout I added a chipboard title and a few chipboard hearts.

I hope you like how it turned out! I love dimension and layered hearts/butterflies/etc give so much texture to the layout too! I realise this style is not for everyone, but it is certainly my style!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Waves, Patterns & Pictures…Oh My!

05/24/18

Hello everyone!
It’s Anna here with my first project created with “Poolside” collection. When I saw it for the first time, I loved how different it was from other summer / pool themed collections. This retro feel is really unique and so fun to create with. I love the whimsical lifebuoys in a shapes of unicorn, giraffe and flamingo.
For my first layout I created a little mixed media background using blue watercolors and crayons.

1-3

I paired it with a strip of “Pooling around” paper. Those little fishes are so cute. I also cut out some waves shapes from the same paper. Little squares from “Let’s flamingle” paper look so good peeking from behind the strip.

2-3

Picture of my daughter Maja playing in the pool is so adrobale and easy to scrap. She was splashing water all around and I managed to capture this moment. That’s why I decided to use “Splish splash” title. I made it using elements from chipboard stickers set.

3-3

Swimming children from ephemera pack are so fun and I had to add few of them on my page. I like how those elements compose with my waves. I thought adding splashes and drops of water will be a great idea with this title. I searched for them in ephemera pack and puffy stickers and placed them on my page.

4-3

I finished my page by adding splashy paper clip. I just love those elmbellishments and I wanted to hoard them but well… they were made to shine on the pages. I an happy how this page turned out. Scrapping summer photos is always my favorite and I can’t wait for the upcoming summer to grab my camera and snap some pictures. There will be some pool photos for sure.

Minimalist Style…The Good Stuff!

05/22/18

The Good Stuff. I want to document and remember all The Good Stuff from my girls’ childhood. SO many awesome (and not so awesome – but usually laughable) moments. This is one of the awesome moments. Going to visit Roxy and Sally. Probably thee most favourite animals in my Milly’s childhood thus far.

I used scatterings of elements from both The Bright Side collection and the Poolside collection.

I wanted to keep the layout bright and fun. I love the photos I took of this particular day at my Uncles visiting their horses and didn’t want to take away from the gorgeous photos. I tend to be a minimalist but pushed myself to be less of a minimalist on this layout. I found that keeping the colour palette simple helped a huge amount. Yellow, white and black were the main colors for this page.

I love the birds in the ephemera pack in The Bright Side collection.

I also snuck in a few of the chipboard sticker elements. The sunshine paper is from the Poolside collection.

The layout design is based roughly on another layout I made last year. When I’m stumped I go through old layouts and look at them as if they are a sketch. Sometimes that’s all I need to get going and pump out a few layouts in a short amount of time.

I hope you found something new in my project!  I’m always trying to keep it simple, but fresh and on-trend, too!

Happy Scrapping!

Come in…the water’s fine!!

05/19/18

Hey Fancy Pants fans! Nicole here today with a project using the fun and oh so summery, Poolside collection
Pool
I used the yellow patterned paper from the collection to create a big and bright sun shape on my page, adding some foam adhesive behind each of the sun beams.  I love the bright yellow, paired with the rich navy patterns in this collection.
Pool cl1
I added in a bold title to the bottom of the page using the POOL title from the Poolside Ephemera package. I added each letter with some foam adhesive to add a little dimension and then added in some water droplets around the title for a little splash of color!
Pool cl2
If this isn’t getting you ready for summer, I don’t know what is!  Take out old photos, new photos, or plan for photos to come and get creating!
Thanks for being here today!

On The Bright Side

05/17/18

Hi dear friends, It’s Maryám here to share my third layout using The Bright Side Collection. For today’s project, I decided to do an 8 1/2 x 11 page.

maryamp_may18_fpd_project1-IG

I started punching out some circles from the 6×6 paper pad. Then, I cut them in a half and adhered them to the right and left borders of my layout. After that, I fussy cut the flower cluster from the Natural Beauty paper and also added some ephemera pieces to my design.

Here are some close-ups:

For the title, I used one of the chipboard stickers that says On the bright side because it matches perfectly with the photo.

The photo I used for this layout was taken by me this summer when we visited a place where were a lot of animals, included the birds from the photo. We had a lot of fun over there, so I all of the journaling is about the experience we lived.

I hope you like this project. Thanks for stopping by today!
