Oh so happy!

Hi there,

Zsoka back with you today sharing my newest layout I’ve created for Fancy Pants Designs!

I remembered using a specific cut file about 2 or so years ago but for the life of me I could not find it, I have no idea whose design it was. So I just went ahead and made my own in the Silhouette Studio program – it’s basically just triangle shapes arranged in a circle.

I cut this from one of the patterned papers, then backed the rays with different patterned papers from The Bright Side collection. I also added some machine stitching in the middle of the rays.

I created one cluster in the middle of the page, so it is a very simple design. I felt like otherwise the page would have been too busy. I layered tissue paper, tags, die cuts behind my photo and glued these down. I then added different embellies around and on top of my photo: labels, chipboard stickers, die cuts. For some interest I added a die cut photo frame too and my title also comes from the die cut ephemera pack.

To finish off my page I glued down some colourful puffy sticker dots!

I hope you like this simple idea!

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a great day!

See you soon!

Handmade gift boxes!

Hello friends!  A diy inspired blog post for you today, on creating
gift boxes using pattern paper!  Lately I have been loving using up
pattern paper, creating bags, envelopes, boxes, tags, banners, etc…
fun and different ways to express my creativity, and using up my
supplies!  Today, I am sharing a few different sized boxes, and how I
decorated them.

If you do a simple search on diy gift boxes, you will find so many
different ways to create a box out of paper.  The internet is amazing!
After creating the box, using pattern paper, tags, ephemera &
chipboard stickers all from The Bright Side collections, I made a tag.
Instead of attaching the tag to a tied ribbon around the box, it was
adhered to the top of the box.

The bigger box was having a hard time staying closed, so tying ribbon
around it worked like a charm.  To embellish, a tag was create and
added to the ribbon.

One of my favorite things about using a collection to create anything
diy, is that it all perfectly coordinates! The cute rain boots paper,
with the cute rain boots die cut ephemera! So cute!  The tag and the
die cut were adhered to the box using foam adhesive, which gives it

The next time, you need to wrap a present, consider creating your own
gift box, it really is so easy.  Especially with pretty ephemera designs, online templates,
directions, punches and dies!

Rain Boots and Flower Bouquets!

Just me again with a fun little “bloom” project I came up with!

We have these adorable ceramic boots in our shop that match The Bright Side Collection SO PERFECTLY and I thought for the spring shower season that I would make a bloom of paper flowers for one & I’m so happy with how it turned out!

To create the “bloom” I used a green popsicle stick as my base {you could just paint one to match.. the key is that it is hiding in the boot anyway}!  Get a good idea of where you want your first flower to start by putting the popsicle stick in the boot so you know how high the flowers need to be… I made mine so that the flowers angled out of the boot naturally, but didn’t stop it from sitting nicely in place!

I layered my flowers until I got the right look and then added both regular and dimensional adhesives for a ‘real’ bouquet look!  Oh, and I added the kite for a little fun flair!!

A little closer look at the details!

I put it on my desk next to the layout I shared earlier in the month of my little guy sharing his own gathered bouquet with me…they looked perfect together and made the perfect spring decor for my desk area!

Thanks for doing us today!  I hope you’ve got some new ideas “blooming” in your head ;)!

The Good Stuff Mini Album by Maryam

Hey, Friends!

Maryám here with you to share a new project using The Bright Side Collection. For today’s project, I made a mini album. The size of it is about 3×5 inches but there are also some pages that are a bit smaller.

In this page, I decided to add a pocket with sequins. I made the pocket from one of the photo sheets from the Fancy Pants Designs Insta Album.

For this page, I used vellum sheet. Over it, I added the words Fun Day using the puffy alphabet stickers from the Sweet Nothings Collection.

For the middle page, I decided to make some pockets. I had a lot of photos that I wanted to include and pockets are great for that.

In this page, I had the other part of the sequin pocket but in here, I added a phrase using the same alphabet I used before. In the right side of these pages, there is a vellum pocket, I put a photo and a tag in it.

And that’s it for today friends! I hope you liked this mini album. Please, let me know if you have any questions by commenting below.

Have an amazing week!

Pinteresting: Fall Garlands.

With Fall in the air in the Northern Hemisphere… and pretty Fall decor on every inspirational web site you look at, it was fitting that I found the cutest fall decor inspiration on Pinterest for my project today! I love garlands…glitter, leaf, tassel, pom-pom, fabric etc… GARLANDS are a must in all of our homes to really put us in the Thanksgiving mood.

Aren’t they pretty??!

Pinterest Inspiration

My initial thought was to create a home decor project…but then I had a brain wave…I would create Fall garlands for a scrapbook page.

This is the result!

Give Thanks by Kim Watson

Having such gorgeous products from the Golden Days really made this page easy to create. Layered leaves strung across the page gives an awesome 3D effect. To personalise the garlands, I mixed in leaf shaped photos & journaling written onto a leaf shape. Scoring the veins in the gold foil leaves, makes them interesting & more realistic!

The oversized paper alphabet worked perfectly hanging on the garland string. A foil acetate sentiment, filled in the space between the x2 words & added a little bling into the second row.

Multiple layers, stitching, enamel dots, puffy sticker shapes & sentiment strips were the perfect recipe for these beautiful leaves!

The foiled vellum added a lovely translucent layer to the navy blue leaves. The trick with successful layering, is to maximise the subtly of different densities. I love how the combination of gorgeous colors, patterns & textures created the most gorgeous page. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Pinteresting: I <3 Fall

Hello everyone. Christin here today to share with you a project inspired by something I found on Pinterest. I am one of those who spend hours and hours browsing Pinterest – I don’t pin everything, but I love to take in all that you can find there.  It’s in the little things that I find the inspiration and not always the whole image, but sometimes just a feeling.

For this project I was inspired by this little fall project. What spoke to me was the colors and the title and I thought it was a perfect starting point for the new collection Golden Days

I was also inspired by the white frame and wanted to frame my photo in a similar way.  I used one of the lighter patterns in the collection underneath a darker one that I used as a photomat.

The colors of the chair were the base for my background and I used the same colors over and above my layers of paper.

I was also inspired by the leaves in the corner and decided to just use more leaves and I stitched a little to make the leaves a little more interesting.  I don’t have a digital cutter so I printed a few leaves on a piece of cardstock, cut them, and traced and cut them out before stitching.

I hope to see lots of lovely fall inspired layouts on the FB page. I really love fall, like my title says. I just love the colors and the light.
