Spotlight on Brag Cards

Happy New Year Fancy Pants friends!

I’m back today with a new layout using the awesome Joy Parade collection designed by Kim. This is such a fun and bright collection, perfect for documenting those special celebrations in your life. I chose some photos of my son unwrapping presents at his birthday party a few months back.

There’s a pack of brag cards in this collection with lots of journaling spots and phrases. I always love these but since I don’t do Project Life I don’t often use them. Or if I do, I do a grid layout for which I don’t use an awful lot of them. On today’s layout I challenged myself to use more on one page. I basically handled them like patterned papers and used them to back my cut files.

This cut file is from The Cut Shoppe. I first backed the middle circles with the brag cards, then the stars. For these I used a mix of brag cards and 6×6 papers.

I used some foam to pop up all of my circles. I love dimension on my pages!

Then I added different embellishments to my circles: ephemera pieces, puffy stickers, a flair button and puffy alphas for my title. My absolute favourite pieces from this collection are the balloons in the ephemera pack. I just had to use a couple on this layout since it went with my birthday theme so well!

I added my journaling and the date in some journaling spots, so handy!

I encourage you to try and use your PL/brag cards even if you don’t do Project Life. They are so fun and come in such gorgeous designs! Don’t miss out!

Thanks for stopping by today, see you soon!

Spotlight on Stamps

TNStampGoldenWays1 by Evelynpy

I love playing with clear stamps. I’m falling in love with the new clear stamps in the Golden Days collection. They have so many icons that I’m falling in love with! Great icons for my travel notebook spread for my favorite months of October and November. Using this clear stamp set I created some patterns with colorfull inks. It’s easy and fast even for the beginner.

I chose two feathers in the stamp set and I stamped them randomly using two different colors but still perfect for my color combo. I chose grey for the big one and orange for the small one. I stamped the big one first randomly in any direction and stamped the small one into the empty space that I have. Because this is my opening page of my October Travel Notebook spread I still chose another word from the stamp set: ‘the story begins’.

I chose dark chocolate ink and stamped it randomly. I love the imperfect looks of stamping. It makes my opening page look so perfect.

The second one, I chose ‘love’ from the stamp set. Again I used the same color from the previous page and stamped it randomly. Don’t be scared to stamp it… just follow your heart. Stamps are one of my favorites to bring with me when I want to do memory keeping on the go to create my travel notebook spread.

Next is the ampersand. This time I did really want to make my spread look so clean and minimalist so I just stamped it right in the middle of my page.

Stamps are also the best solution if you run out of pattern papers but still want to decorate your travel notebook! Happy Stamping!

Spotlight on Cork Stickers

Hello Fancy Pants Designs friends! Today I’d like to share my latest project using the wonderful CORK products!

I have decided to create my desk top calendar for 2017. I used the brand new Perfect DIY Clipboard.

You can remove the clip with a basic flat-head screwdriver this time! It’s easy to paint, design and decorate on the board.

I used the Color Printed Cork Stickers from the Golden Days collection and the Printed Cork Pieces from Joy Parade. Both products are stickers so you can create your project easily and quickly.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Spotlight on Ephemera

Hi everyone, Jess here with a Spotlight layout that focuses on the Ephemera Pack of the Life is Beautiful collection. My favorite part of each collection is the ephemera and whenever I tear into a new line I reach for that first. There are always so many fun bits and pieces that range in size and can be used for accents, focal points, layering and even titles.

You can see that I really used a ton of the ephemera pack on here.  I began with using doilies to mat parts of my photo area.  I combined them with fussy cut flowers tucked into my layers to blend the shapes.

I added several of the more whimsical images like the bike and balloons because they fit the theme of this young daycare group of kids.  And they’re just darn cute!

I surrounded my entire photo mat area with clusters of ephemera and other small embellishments.  This design really works well for one central photo that you want to feature.

I also added more ephemera pieces to each of the separate corner areas.  Pop dots or foam tape are your friend with this many little bits and pieces!  I like having layers and levels to my embellishments.

It’s amazing how the pieces of ephemera can actually dictate your overall design and make the page.

If you’re ever waffling on if you NEED that ephemera pack, trust me, you do!!

Planning with Webster’s Pages: Day 6

Hello! It’s been a few cold, rainy days here in Utah and I finally see the sun… so I snapped my photos before it disappeared again!  I hope that you all have enjoyed our journey of planning with our fun planner and paper products and, of course, the Webster’s Pages Color Crush Planners!  Here’s a look at what I have been planning {and doing} for the month of May~and I love how this will turn right into memories!

I’m using the A5 planner size in the Rose Gold color…totally crushing on this larger version, PLUS, the color is gorgeous and it matches our Millie & June collection perfectly!

Here’s a closer look at the cute decor for my planner… it’s always busy, but it’s a good busy and even better when you get to make it look so fun.  I LOVE our new puffy dot/heart stickers..they are PERFECT for planners… add a dot/heart next to each event so you don’t miss a thing!  You could even color code if you wanted…that was a little much for me, but really, it seems like a great idea…all blue is for practice, all pink is for games, all gold is for events, etc.

I also used our first day of school photos on the page to show how they looked when the year started…kind of a fun little way to document the school year and see how they’ve changed!

*Custom Paper Clip Idea* One of my favorite things for planners is chunky paper clips…and you can make your own!  I used one of our new Paper Bow sets to create the gorgeous bow sticking out of the planner and these cute other bows that I’ll use in the rest of my planner…And I just loved this vellum quote page found in my planner so I’ll be decorating it up a bit more, too!

I just can’t say enough how I ADORE the Webster’s Pages planners and also how much I ADORE our new Millie & June Collection and our Attwell Collection pieces…they couldn’t be a better fit for planning, card making, scrapbooking or crafting!  Now, wouldn’t you like to WIN a set of Millie & June AND a Color Crush Planner?  Leave your comments below!  We will be announcing our WINNER  for this contest AND our NEW RELEASE contest on MONDAY!

Thanks for joining us this week and we hope you’ll get your planning on with all of the fun ideas we’ve shared with you this week!  Xoxo

Spotlight on Sticky Notes: Stop and Smell Everything

Good morning!

Today I am going to try to get you to use those Sticky Notes!!!  Yes, they do look colorful and fun in our trendy planners, but they can also look amazing on a layout!  Challenge yourself to think outside the box.  Remember a 12×12 layout is essentially a box! lol.

Remember when I first started designing with Fancy Pants?  I mentioned that I scrapbooked real.  This, my friends, is as real as it gets.  Walks are impossible.  I have no control.  I try to chose a route with very little hydrants for this reason.  She stops and smells everything.  Hence, my title!  If you can get past the picture let’s look at how I incorporated those gorgeous Attwell Sticky Notes into my layout.

Above you can see my fantastic photo, lol!  Past the photo you can see I used the Sticky Notes as paper banners, peeking out from the left near the Flair Badge.  Above the photo you will see the Today Sticky.  It helps draw your eye down to the photo.

See how I used them as paper, stuck behind and layered?

This is my favorite.  I anchored these banner Sticky Notes with black machine stitching.  They add character to my white space and create a display of arrows and “good stuff!”   I added a few circles of stitching around my speech bubble to help tie it all together.

So, I challenge you to use these gorgeous Sticky Notes!  They really can being life and color to all things.
