Maryám here with you today. I still can’t believe it, but this is my very first post as a part of the Fancy Pants Design Team and I’m super excited to be here!! Thanks, Jodi, for this amazing opportunity.
For today’s project, I used The Bright Side Collection. I fell in love with this collection since the first time I saw it, and once my box arrived home, I started working with it right away.
The papers from this collection are beautiful and I wanted to make a layout showcasing them. I searched on Pinterest for some quilt patterns and once I found one I liked, I did the same but using papers!! Once I had the background of my page done, I added the photo and some ephemera pieces, as well as some chipboard stickers. I also added a label and stamped the date of the photo on it. To finish my layout I added some pink ink splatters.
Here are some close-ups photos.
That’s it for today friends! I hope you liked this project. Please, let me know if you have any questions. I can’t wait to see what you will create with this beautiful collection.
Have a wonderful day!
It’s Anna here with my first post created for Fancy Pants DT! I am so happy and thrilled to work with those gorgeous products! I hope you will find my projects inspiring.
My first layout is a kind of introduction about me and what I like (beside scrapbooking of course ). I used “The Bright Side” collection for this page. I love the combination of bright colors ans cute patterns. This line can be used in so many projects. It’s very versatile.
I used my most favorite paper in this collection , called “Natural beauty”, as a background for my page. I printed series of funny selfies as it it page about me. I think using your own pictures in layouts it’s very important because your story matters. Your life is not only about cute kids and pest and beloved husband. You also deserve to scrap yourself. Don’t forget to add journaling, so your kids will have a lot to remember about you in many years from now.
I like my pictures to have frames. If I am not able to print them with white outline, I just add a frame made of paper. I used a pieces of papers from 6*6 pad and backed the photos with different colors. I love small paper pads because you don’t have to cut the whole 12*12 sheet to get just the tiny piece of pattern.
I went through ephemera pack and picked elements that matches the things I like. I got bird, because I like watching birds using binoculars. I am a sweet tooth so I picked those cute macarons. I do not drink coffee but I love drinking tea. That’s why I used a cup.
I scattered the chosen items under my pictures adding some tag from tags set and few chipboard stickers. I finished my composition by stamping names of my favs with different ink colors. Title of my page is quite simple – My favs. Because this page is all about it. I used black puffy alpha set from “Sweet nothings” collection. Adding stitches with loose thread ends is a great way to create texture on the page. My final step was to splash the page with colorful mists. I like this touch of mess on my layouts.
And that’s it. Now it’s your turn to scrap yourself. If you love this collection and want to purchase it, check your favorite shops. You can also buy it at our retail website Make a Pretty Life.
Today I’m sharing a few Easter cards with you & they are adorable!
I’ve used the bright and colorful Take Note collection to create all of these cards. I just love the colors and patterns in this line! I knew I was not going to use embellishments, so the original theme of the collection didn’t bother me, the papers were perfect! Sometimes themes make you think you won’t be able to use a collection, but that is NOT the case with the Fancy Pants Designs Collections!
I remembered a super adorable cut file the lovely Bea Valint created last year and thought I’d use it on my cards today. I however wanted to make both girl and boy bunnies, so I modified her original cut file to have a boy too (nose and eyelashes are different). I cut all of the bunnies from textured white card stock and for the rest of the card I used patterned papers.
I cut little flowers for the girls (also part of the cut file) and hand cut a couple of hats for the boys. Plus added little bows for neck tie. I stamped my sentiment using a mini alpha stamp set and added some Nuvo drops to finish off these four cards.
I also wanted to make more cards where the bunnies’ ears are hanging off the card. I simply folded a standard A2 size card in half, this way the card still fits in the same sized envelope, but the ears have room to stick out! So cute!
On this set, I also added a piece of patterned paper to my white card base. I cut some grass with the help of a die and layered two on top of each other using some foam adhesive to create some dimension. I backed the bunny ears and faces with patterned paper, then glued them on the card front and decorated them with flowers and a hat like the first set.
For my sentiment I used one of the patterned papers in the Take Note collection that had a fun, bold alphabet & fussy cut the tiny alphas to create the title. So fun and unique! I added some Nuvo drops and they were done!
Thanks for “hopping” by today~ I hope you love these cards as much as I loved creating them!
Have an awesome day!

It’s Jodi here with a new project featuring our brand new The Bright Side Collection! So…how many Target dollar spot shoppers do we have out there? Probably all of you! I picked up this simple felt banner in the dollar spot a while back and it was just sitting in my craft bin waiting for the perfect way to be used… along came this new collection…the perfect match! There was a purple and a bright orange piece that I took out, but the rest of the pieces were bright and cheery and perfect for a spring time banner!
I wanted to keep it simple and clean, but add a couple of my favorite photos as the highlight. This project was quick and easy and I only used a couple sheets of 12×12 paper for the banner backgrounds, an ephemera pack, puffy dot stickers and the crocheted flowers! And of the papers and products are from The Bright Side Collection, including the darling crochet flowers that we brought back for this spring collection! Don’t you just love them?
Here are a few close ups (I found the cute, colorful and perfectly coordinating ceramic strawberry baskets at Walmart):
And here are a few more close-up so of the banner project! Create your own… this collection is in stores now (shop local first ;)! ) and can also be found on our website www.makeaprettylife.com.
Here’s hoping that Spring will arrive soon now that I’ve put my banner up!
Now that that Hustle and Bustle of the Holiday is over, what a better time to relax than to spend some time in your craft room right? Well, it works for me. I love to just unwind with a little time cutting and pasting. I love creating hand made cards because even if I don’t have a lot of time to commit to “getting crafty”, a card doesn’t take long and satisfies my creative soul 😊
For these cards I pulled out the Family & Co Collection.
This collection has so many great pieces for layouts and altered pieces but also great ephemera pieces for creating cards.
These colorful papers are just so pretty together. There are plenty of ephemera, tags and Chipboard stickers that are great for cardmaking.
I love these little typewriters! They are so cute! If you want a different message than what is already on the little paper, it’s easy to change it out like I did here.
We have a Niece and Nephew that are moving to a new house, so when I saw these cute little houses, I knew I had to make them a “Congratulations on your new home” card.
I hope I’ve helped spark your creativity a bit with these cards. Wishing you time for some creative therapy, just for you!
Zsoka here today with a new layout I created for the “out with the old, in with the new” theme at Fancy Pants! Our assignment was to mix new with old supplies. I loved this! I don’t often have the time to create stash layouts but I always love when I have the possibility. They do take longer in general because I have to go trough my stash to see what I can or want to use, but one can achieve a much more unique look!
I’ve used the following collections on this layout:
Everyday Circus (patterned paper)
Nautical (patterned paper)
Spellbound (patterned paper, buttons, die cuts)
Timbergrove (patterned paper)
Meology (chipboard button)
Making waves (alphas)
Burlap & Bouquets (flair button)
True Friend (flair button)
Flutter (button, chipboard)
Dream Big (paper clip, die cuts, puffy stickers)
Family & Co (label, die cut)
Joy Parade (die cuts)
Good Fellows (puffy stickers)
The first paper I chose was the teal wood grain paper – isn’t it amazing?! It was like seeing it for the first time! Then I started picking out papers I liked and at some point I had a color combo in my mind what I wanted to go for.
I designed the layout in Silhouette studio, just to see what it would look like. Then I cut all the circles with my Cameo. Of course you can hand cut these using different sized plates as template. I used to do this before I had my Cameo.
I then glued down everything and felt like I have no dimension at all. So I added a few hand stitched circles here and there, for a bit of dimension and texture.
My photo I already cropped in my photo editing program, because I like to have a white border around. I then matted my picture and placed it on some foam adhesive so it stands out more.
At this point I was still just hoping I’d find embellishments that matched my chosen colors! I’m not big on planning ahead haha! Luckily I have quite a big stash of Fancy Pants supplies since it’s been my favorite company ever since I started scrapping! So I dug out everything and to my surprise I’ve found so many things! Even alphas which I really wasn’t expecting. In this alpha pack there are other colors too, red and yellow, so I picked out all colors that fit and tried to come up with a title. Boy, this is what took me longest! I even tried to use one of those scrabble helps where you enter your letters and it gives you suggestions for words. But I had a lot more letters you can enter there so it was no help at all. Eventually I came up with this title. I had to engineer a T because I only had one. I believe I’ve used an R and a 5 to create it.
I then added all kinds of embellies, all over my page: puffy stickers, die cuts, flair buttons, buttons, chipboards…I love how the colors tie all these together!
To finish off the layout I wrote my journaling and stamped my date.
That’s it for today! I hope you are inspired to dive into your old Fancy Pants stash now, because there surely are treasures to be rediscovered! Happy crafting!
