Marco Polo!

Hello Fancy Pants fans!
It’s Anna here and I have for you some fun, summer page made with “Poolside” collection. It’s my second project made with it and enjoyed making it so much. I have plenty of pool photos and I have been waiting for the perfect collection to scrap them. My favorite elements from this line are those funny swim – rings in different shapes and I thought I want to use a lot of them in one page.
I started with a white American Crafts cardstock and splashed it with some colorful mists to create splatters and break this white space.
I found those “pool” letters in the ephemera pack and I thought they will be just perfect to create a title. I added a second word “party” using puffy stickers included in this collection.
Funny swim – rings from both ephemera pack and chipboard stickers found their place on my page too. I arranged them under and above my photo.
I filled the empty spots with smaller elements like water splashes.
This page is really simple and fast to make and you can easily recreate it using different creatures, matching your photo. I haven’t used any pattern paper in this layout. Mixing and matching embellishments is also fun and can be enough to make a page.

Thank you for stopping by. Remember to check your local stores, if you want to purchase this pretty collection. If you have no luck finding it, you can always order it through our retail store at Make a Pretty Life.

The Cutest Little Tag Album

Hey ya’ll. Stephanie here.

Today I’m sharing another small scrap project. Another fun summer mini-album using the Pool Side collection. I’ve never tried a ring flip book so I thought I would try it this time. And I have to say I love it! And with some fun fringe it’s even better!

I wanted to remind you guys that when I work in a project like this I usually create all the pages at the same time. Like one bigger project and then layer them for an album effect. Projects like these are my favorite because I can literally do them in one sitting. And I like the feeling of accomplishing a project instead of feeling like I can never complete larger albums. Hey they are laid out before I put them together in the album style!

I hope you enjoyed this project! I loved how it turned out. Remember you can always follow me here, on my blog Craft His Love and through social media @craft_his_love! Thanks guys have a wonderful day!

Geometric Summer Layout!

Hello, friends!!

I’m back on the blog today and I’m here with another shape layout!  If you remember my last post, I worked with CIRCLES and today I am working on a layout with TRIANGLES!

I love that using a shape can create a beautiful layout, a unique look and it really shows off the variety of patterns in a collection!  And The Poolside Collection  is so perfect for summer projects!

To create my project I cut out a variety of triangle shapes… you can see that they all vary in size and shape, but still maintain their triangle title!

Adding a few accents to help balance the bold shape of the triangles is perfect with the splashes of chipboard and small summer ephemera elements!

I also tucked my photo  (which is rectangular) right into a flat space to line it up for a little title using the ephemera pieces!

This was another quick and easy layout once I created a ‘puzzle’ to fit all the pieces of my triangle shapes!  Have you tried to create your own unique puzzle?  It’s so fun to experiment with patterns and colors!  Give it a try and be sure to share it with us so we can see your creations!

And Happy Summer!

Pool Party Gift Sack!

Hello, friends, Latisha here!

Are you headed out to some fun pool parties this year?  Have you thought of bringing along a simple gift for your hosts?!

Today, I created a very simple, but fun and custom sack as a little gift for any upcoming parties that I’ll be attending! These are perfect to make several at a time to have on hand!  Fill them up with something as simple as a few mini items like chapstick, sunscreen and a bottled water!  Simple summer, poolside gifts!

I used the Poolside Collection…with the patterned paper and the ephemera it’s easy to mix and match for the sack and create several tags to attach to each one!

To create the sack I simply looked online for how to create a gift sack with scrapbook paper.  It only took two sheets and it’s perfect because the top folds down to show off the coordinating patterned paper on the “B” side!

I hope this gives you some ideas on how to create custom sacks for any occasion!

A Butterfly Flurry.. Let’s Celebrate!

Hi lovelies,

Zsoka back with you today sharing a new layout I’ve created. I’ve used the gorgeous The Bright Side collection on this one!

I picked a butterfly cut file I liked (one of the butterflies in the Butterfly Cluster cut file by Paige Taylor Evans) and cut it from different patterned papers and in different sizes. I then stitched 3-4 together, using my sewing machine.

I also cut another cut file from textured white card stock (The Chicken Wire by The Cut Shoppe), then I started putting my layout together. I picked a blue striped paper from the Family&Co collection for my background. I love this paper!

I then adhered the Chicken Wire cut file to my background paper. I didn’t put glue everyone on the cut file because I wanted to create a dimensional look. I arranged the butterflies the way I liked them, then glued them down.

I layered some tissue paper, tags and die cuts behind both photos and placed them on the layout. For my journaling I used a journaling spot. To finish off my layout I added a chipboard title and a few chipboard hearts.

I hope you like how it turned out! I love dimension and layered hearts/butterflies/etc give so much texture to the layout too! I realise this style is not for everyone, but it is certainly my style!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Waves, Patterns & Pictures…Oh My!

Hello everyone!
It’s Anna here with my first project created with “Poolside” collection. When I saw it for the first time, I loved how different it was from other summer / pool themed collections. This retro feel is really unique and so fun to create with. I love the whimsical lifebuoys in a shapes of unicorn, giraffe and flamingo.
For my first layout I created a little mixed media background using blue watercolors and crayons.
I paired it with a strip of “Pooling around” paper. Those little fishes are so cute. I also cut out some waves shapes from the same paper. Little squares from “Let’s flamingle” paper look so good peeking from behind the strip.
Picture of my daughter Maja playing in the pool is so adrobale and easy to scrap. She was splashing water all around and I managed to capture this moment. That’s why I decided to use “Splish splash” title. I made it using elements from chipboard stickers set.
Swimming children from ephemera pack are so fun and I had to add few of them on my page. I like how those elements compose with my waves. I thought adding splashes and drops of water will be a great idea with this title. I searched for them in ephemera pack and puffy stickers and placed them on my page.
I finished my page by adding splashy paper clip. I just love those elmbellishments and I wanted to hoard them but well… they were made to shine on the pages. I an happy how this page turned out. Scrapping summer photos is always my favorite and I can’t wait for the upcoming summer to grab my camera and snap some pictures. There will be some pool photos for sure.
