Deck The Halls FPDWelcome, everyone, to the second week of the Fancy Pants Designs Deck the Halls event! For these last two weeks of December we’re bringing you inspiration for gift giving, decorating, creative wrapping, parties, and other out-of-the box projects. We hope you enjoy them, share your own ideas with us, and have a wonderful holiday season!

Happy Holidays to each of you!  I’m happy to be hanging out on our blog today and sharing some of the fun little items I made for our holiday decor!  It’s always fun to add a new piece or two each year… and this year, I think I really loved our Mini Bottle Brush Trees {as you’ll see in my projects}!  They’re just too adorable!  And plenty of pieces form our fabulous Oh, Deer! collection!

First up, here’s a vintage door, all dressed up for the season.  I found this old door at an antique shop and gave it a crisp coat of white paint, added a ‘screen’ backer to hang things and a little white shelf, too!  It’s so cute and fun to change things out each season!

I added some of my little projects to my door shelf.  I love my gold and black dollar store frame—I took a sheet of our Oh, Deer!  x6 paper, along with the “jingle bells” card from our Oh, Deer!  brag Cards and placed them in this simple frame!  Next, I added some green burlap from Maya Road (love their accents and ribbons), a couple jingle bells and this decor piece was complete!  Easy… too easy, really!

And did you see our adorable wood arrows?  These are all handmade by Mr. Fancy Pants.  You can find them HERE!  They are the cutest to decorate with…you can paint them, cover them with scrapbook paper, or just add embellishments and change them out each season! LOVE!

And not to forget some adorable little figurines and snow globes to add the littlest of detail to your decor!  I used our brush trees and some vintage deer and angels for these projects.  The brush trees are the easiest and cutest embellishment for the holidays!  And, if you have been a fan for a long time, you’ll remember our Mini Bottle Flower Jars.  I used those for my cute little snow globes!  So happy with how they turned out!

Next on my list was to create some nice neighbor gifts.  I saw this spoon idea over on The Idea Room blog and knew I had to make them.  I tracked down the bamboo items at a local shop (like TJ Maxx, Tuesday Morning, Target—you get the idea) and used my metal stamps to do the lettering on the ends.  You could even personalize them with a family name!

To get the darker look on the letters after I stamped them, I just used a super thin Sharpie market to trace them in!  Next, I added a kraft tag and used our Oh, Deer! Ephemera pack to decorate it up!  Just love the little tree embellishments from this line!

And last, I created my own Silhouette cute file, added some paper from our Oh, Deer! collection behind it and wrapped it up with a baker’s twine bow!  A super simple way to  add some holiday cheer for those you care about!

I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful holiday season and wish you the very best for the upcoming year from all of us at Fancy Pants Designs!
