Hello everyone. Christin here today to share with you a fall layout I made with the Dream Big collection.
The colors in the Dream Big collection made me think of fall and I pulled out this lovely rich colored photo from last year. Have I ever mentioned how much I love fall. The colors, the smell, the leaves. I just don’t like that it’s getting
colder….. With all the colors in the photo I really wanted to both use them as a base for both my background and the papers I picked out.
I used a watercolor pallette full of earth tones like gold, copper, champagne,
grey and a few dots of green and blue.
I cut out the patterned using my Cameo in the shape of a maple leaf. To get some
dimension I cut 3 layers. First the bottom layer – a whole piece of the leaf,
then I cut out a white leaf and then the red leaf in the same size as the
white. I didn’t want them to align perfectly but more random.
I did the same thing with two smaller leaves – added three layers an stapled them
I used a patterned paper around the edge for the white paper and stitched around
it. I used all 6 strands of thread (not to be recommended…) and had to go look
into our toolbox to find something to drag the needle up an down to avoid more
blisters on my finger.
My daughter is really shining in this photo – with both the light and the fact that
she lost a tooth and I thought the puffy stickers Shine on were a perfect fit.
As you can see the Fancy Pants collections are really versatile.
