Hello friends! Soon we will be celebrating the US Thanksgiving holiday. A lot of Americans like to decorate their homes with autumnal decor, and some have lots of friends and family over for a special dinner. To me Thanksgiving is all about family, friends, love, gratitude and giving thanks for blessings big and small…oh and of course the food. The project I am sharing today, is a fun way to create place cards.
Using several different collections, I grabbed pattern papers that remind me of fall.
To start each turkey, you will need 3 strips of paper in the following sizes.
1 in x 9 in
1.5 in x 9 in
2 in x 9 in
Each strip will be scored at 1/2 inch, and folded accordion style.
On each end of each strip, apply adhesive. Fan them into half circles. The 1 inch strip will go first, then the 1.5 in and then the 2 in. I started using the 1.5 inch, to ensure I had enough room for all three.
Using strong permanent adhesive, adhere each fan to Fancy Pants Designs corrugated paper.
Continue until all 3 are adhered.
Choose solid pattern paper, to create the turkey body, the beak, snoods and the feet. I just freehand cut them with scissors. You will also need a googly/wobbly eye, you can find them in any craft store.
Your turkey just needs a name and its ready to be placed on a plate.
This little turkey just makes me smile, and what a cute way to tell your guests where to sit.
