BlogHop_HazelRuby Hello Fancy Pants Friends! Vicki here today. This week we’ll be pairing up with Hazel & Ruby to bring you creative Inspiration and Holiday inspired projects.  Each day this week, we’ll post a new project on the blog that will be showcasing how beautifully Fancy Pants Designs and Hazel & Ruby products work together.

Today I am here to share a project I created with Fancy Pants “Oh Deer” Collection and Hazel & Ruby’s “Stencil Mask” Peel-Away Shapes.  I have to be honest, I have kind of had to sit on my hands a bit to keep myself from creating with this line before now.  I simply adore the colors and patterns of this line.  I was like a kid in a candy store when I dug into these papers and the Hazel & Ruby stencil masks.  I decided to make a shadowbox from this 12×12 unfinished wood piece.  After giving the outside edge a quick coat of brown paint, I got started.

I had never used the Hazel & Ruby Stencil Masks before, and was so I pleasantly surprised. I am sure they will by my new obsession! I love them.

After choosing the paper I wanted for my background of my letters (what would show through after I peeled away the stencil), I gave it a quick thin coat of Mod Podge.  Once that dried, I placed my stencil letters on the paper, then painted over them with white acrylic paint.

I was amazed how well the stencils sealed and left behind such a nice crisp edge, yet were easy to remove.   And the best part…. they wiped right off to be put back on the original sheet to be used again and again.

I love the look! See that pretty paper peeking through?

There are so many cute pieces in the ephemera pack from this line that it was hard to stop myself from adding it all. (eek, must practice control, lol)  But I had such fun putting this together. I was like a little girl playing with paper dolls.

I’m excited to see all the inspiration this week.  I know it will be amazing! Stay tuned.
