Today I’m sharing some ideas on the different ways to include die cutting in your layouts. I used a design on an electronic die cutting machine as well as pre-cut Fancy Pants Designs die cut ephemera and letters. This layout, using the Flutter collection, is of my niece, Skylar, taken about a year ago capturing her natural beauty… inside and out!
The main die cut is the leaf design digital die cut from The Cutte Shoppe, cut using an electronic die cut machine using the solid black side of And paper and a second design from a thin sheet of chipboard (suitable to cut with on your digital die cut machine). Adhere the paper die cut to the chipboard die cut. Apply embossing ink onto some of the die cut leaf areas. Place die cut onto a sheet of bond paper or a spare sheet of paper and sprinkle gold embossing powder onto the embossing inked areas. Tap off excess embossing powder and pour excess back into the container. Emboss the design using a heat tool until the embossing powder melts and turns gold. Place the die cut element in the centre of the background paper.
Mat the photo onto black And paper and then onto green side of Caterpillar paper. Adhere photo to the layout (placing adhesive strips to top and bottom edges of the photo). Cut retro design Brag Card and slide under the photo mat on both sides. Add a decorative tag and a pre-cut gold foil zig zag Ephemera piece to the left edge of the photo.
Add a simple green seam binding ribbon bow to bottom left corner of the photo. Add two decorative pins to complete bow. Add a decorative button to the tag.
Add a scallop gold foil Ephemera piece to the bottom edge of the photo. Adhere the gold foil Ephemera word as well as the appropriate letter from the Alphabet pack, a small butterfly Ephemera and a Flair to complete the embellishment title cluster.
To complete the layout add gold foil Ephemera butterflies finished with self-adhesive gold pearls and sequins.
