Hi Fancy Pants friends! Vicki here to share a brag book album with you that I just finished for a wedding gift. My best friend’s daughter got married last weekend, so I finally got to wrap up the album I’ve been working on for them. I wasn’t there when she opened it but her mom said she was thrilled. Her and her husband live in New York and both have careers that keep them very busy. I know her well enough to know she really appreciates things like this (I used to scrapbook with her when she was a little girl And I know, as limited as her time is, she would like to be able to participate in creating an album of her own. She is quite a creative girl. So… I thought I’d create an album where I put a number of pages together but then filled the pockets and protectors in the album with bits and pieces of papers and ephemera so that she can continue the album adding photos and her own creative touches.
Here is a peek into my memory album for Michelle and Reece:
I chose to use the Office Suite collection for my album. It was a great choice for a couple who have traveled extensively. The travel themed pieces mixed with the floral prints and patterns were just what I wanted.
A simple bit of ephemera adds so much to a page.
The Brag books are perfect for adding large photos or page layouts to one side with a lined page for journaling across from it. I’m leaving the dates and journaling for Michelle to fill in, in her own handwriting, making it that much more personal.
It was actually quite easy for me to keep this album a secret. I got these photos from her Facebook. I knew she’d be okay with it and it saved me having to bother her while she was busy with wedding planning.
The many photo protector sheets make it easy to just add print and add photos.
I didn’t wait until the end of the book to add pieces and pages for her to create herself. I left them all through out the book.
She will be able to add the little state pieces of ephemera to her other photos if she wants. I didn’t know where each of them were taken for sure, but I did know this one, because I knew it was my friend’s house. She was HOME… here in Nebraska!
I hope Michelle enjoys the creative process of getting to participate in the making of this album. And I hope Michelle and Reece enjoy not only reminiscing over the memories in this album but in making many more amazing memories together over the years to come.
Thanks for stopping by and letting me share with you.
